Things that matter most

I sit here this morning listening to my washing machine and dishwasher humming and am thinking about all the things I could be getting down today. The list is long. Isn't it always? However today not many things on that list are going to be crossed off.
With Allen's play in full swing I have not seen much of him this week. He was able to sneak away for an hour on Tuesday to come to the ultrasound, but other than that it is usually just the car ride home and then off to sleep to start again tomorrow. Yesterday and today are particularly hard because he has an evening show and a midnight show. He is essentially missing Halloween. But today I am reconnecting with my husband. Two good friends of Allen's from school have offered to take Miles for a few hours so we can be alone. I am a little nervous having never left him with any one but family. But I need this, I need time with my husband, just us. I love Miles dearly, as does Allen but he tends to monopolize Mommy. So here is to a day of reconnecting and spending time doing what matters most.

Button, Button who's got a Button?

We do! We found out on Monday that we are expecting a new little button. It was unexpected to say the least, we have been using birth control and I was scheduled to have a IUD placed on Oct 29th. We have been planning, scheming and dreaming for the last couple months and had finally dotted the I's and crossed the T's on our three year plan. This plan did not include another baby right now. But..... I suppose the Lord knows better than we do. So here we go again. This little one is due around June 17th 2010, I am about 7 weeks along.
This baby and Megan's new baby will be just about the same age difference as Miles and Thomas. So they should be great friends. I am also glad that Miles will be exposed to a newborn, via cousin Addy, before this baby comes. So here are the first pictures of our little button. We will keep you updated as our family grows (literally..hehe)

Happy Birthday Miles!!!

So last week was Miles's first birthday. We had a party at Becky's house with all the Utah cousins. It was a Monkey themed party and it turned out pretty well.

Before the party started Auntie Megan took some great one year old pictures ( she got Miles the shirt too!).
